We’re Presenting at Kids SecuriDay 2019

Mos and Boo Conferences Leave a Comment

Sorry we’ve been so quiet lately but we have been preparing for a totally new presentation. No tamper-evident bypasses. No lockpicking. Nothing physical at all!!!

When we were at OzSecCon 2019 back in June, we were approached and asked to do a Keynote at a kids security conference!!! Kids SecuriDay!!! What an honour!!! So we have been working hard on researching some new stuff, well… new for us… and we will be presenting this coming weekend on Saturday the 3rd of July in Canberra. We love Canberra because that’s where we went to our first awesome conference, BSides Canberra, way back in 2017 when we were young ????

Our talk is called “All Your Cybers Are Belong to Everyone” though we might have modified the title slightly ???? Here is the extract to our talk:

Security and privacy is more important than ever for our generation. In our keynote we will talk about why security is so important, especially for kids. What really is “hacking”? How we got into security, and how you can too. To finish up we will talk about some stuff we have been doing that shows how much fun learning and research can be, and how it isn’t just for adults ????

The conference is already all booked out so hope you have your tickets. Hope to see you there and we can’t wait to make a whole bunch of new friends to add to our hacker fam!!!

Mos aka MrOldSkinny, loves to hack things together whether it be hardware, software or a combination of both! When he isn’t doing crazy hacks you will find him picking locks, tampering with tamper-proof devices, and finding weaknesses in security controls. All the cybers will be his!

Boo has a passion for bypassing tamper evident devices, having first got her tiny 6 year old hands on them at BSides Canberra in 2017. When she isn't bypassing tamper evident devices or lock picking, she can be found writing code, programming her robot, performing gymnastics manoeuvres or taking other children down in the MMA dojo.
